The Art of Letting Go

A Day of Mindfulness Meditation with Dr. Victor Byrd

Join us for a day of sitting and walking meditation, mindfulness and a dharma talk on "The Art of Letting Go." In our own way, we will all experience this letting go as we announce that Long Beach Meditation is moving to a new location!

With "letting go" as our theme, we will say goodbye to the Peacebuilders building at 3pm with a closing ceremony as we look forward to sharing our next great location! Stay afterwards for a light reception and celebration. As Victor once said, "If letting go were easy everyone would be enlightened!"

Note: We have a large parking lot in back with street parking nearby. There is a bus stop directly in front, #61.

Important Note: There is no wheelchair access to the main meditation hall upstairs. An alternate sitting space may be made available upon request.

Class Preparation: We have cushions, zafus, benches and comfortable chairs on hand, but you are welcome to bring your own sitting gear.

Please Bring:

  • Your own lunch. There is a refrigerator to store your food. Coffee and tea are provided.
  • You may bring your own sitting gear if preferred.

Please wear:

  • Loose-fitting clothes and shoes that are easy to slip on and off.
  • An extra wrap like a blanket or shawl to keep warm during the sits.
  • Please do not wear scented perfumes and remember to turn off your cell phone.
