Led By Community Dharma Leader Jampa Kelsang
The Mindfulness Movement is in full swing. From the cover of TIME magazine, corporate mindfulness workshops, as well as celebrity endorsements. Even Oprah is promoting mindfulness! But what are we truly searching for when engaging in a mindfulness meditation practice? Less stress? More focus and productivity? Or just another trend?
From a Buddhist perspective, mindfulness meditation is the ground that we begin with on the journey to discover one’s true nature. A practice started over 2,500 years ago. This class will focus on different techniques in mindfulness meditation. We’ll focus on basic sitting practice as well as training to take our practice off the cushion with short sessions of walking meditation. This class will include a discussion of mindfulness meditation followed by guided meditation and a group question and answer session.
This workshop format will include teaching, guided practice, and discussion periods. The format will be flexible, to allow us to explore what feels most relevant and alive for those who attend.
The goal of the “Awake in the World” program is to learn to wholeheartedly experience the challenge and beauty of everyday life through the art of meditation.
This workshop is suitable for meditators of all levels.
Refunds are available up to 24 hours before the course.
