Awake in the World: Guidelines for Happiness

  • Long Beach Meditation 5100 East The Toledo Long Beach, CA, 90803 United States (map)

Led By Teacher Kaydroup Zangmo

This class will focus on understanding and practicing genuine confidence. We will look at what gets in the way of true confidence and what helps us to deal with these temporary obstacles.

The path to well-being begins with understanding that everything we experience is truly a precious opportunity to discover unconditional confidence. Instead of habitually reacting to challenges with tension, stress and fear, we train ourselves to notice the habit and use it as a reminder to relax and respond with curiosity, through the practice of meditation and mind training.

This class will include:

  • A discussion of true confidence

  • Guided meditation

  • Group Q & A discussion and closing remarks

The goal of the “Awake in the World” program is to learn to wholeheartedly experience the challenge and beauty of everyday life through the art of meditation.

This workshop is suitable for meditators of all levels.

Refunds are available up to 24 hours before the course.

Teacher Khaydroup Zangmo

Khaydroup Zangmo, a native of Southern California, began her journey with meditation in 1982, eventually moving to France in 1990 to devote 6 1/2 years to learning to understand her own mind through two 3-year 3-month meditation retreats. She discovered that through meditation training, each one of us has the capacity to relax, be aware, and see clearly how we create conditions either for stress and dissatisfaction in our lives, or the opposite, contentment and ease. Early in her career she worked in education and mental health. Since 1997 she has been teaching meditation both in the US and Europe, moving back to Southern California in 2000 and making use of the internet to give teachings online. Khaydroup has been teaching at Long Beach Meditation since 2014.
