Three Jewels Mountain Retreat
The unique setting and purpose-built grounds will ensure that participants can sink deep into the silence of the mountains, enjoying the peace and tranquility that this valley offers.
A rare opportunity to experience a focused meditation retreat under the guidance of Guiding Teacher Jokai Blackwell Sensei.
The foundation of the weekend will be our shared practice of presence, with sitting and walking meditation, eating, resting, falling asleep and waking up, all within a container of silence. Yokoji Zen Mountain Center provides an ideal environment for this practice.
The Three Jewels:
Buddha (awakened one), Dharma (teachings), and the Sangha (community), together make up the refuge of Buddhism. In our modern context how can we bring these ancient teachings to life with meaningful and vibrant expression? Our foundational practice of meditation cultivates the living realization of awakening. The broad range of teachings we encounter at Long Beach Meditation deepen our understanding. Our wonderful, eclectic community of meditation practitioners grows stronger together. Supported by the open space of mountains, forest and sky, we can take refuge in the three jewels of our shining practice, emerging better able to face the challenges of this precious life.
